North Downs and Ashtead Hospital Staff support a local
children's Hospice
Ashtead and North Downs Hospital staff
recently visited Shootingstar CHASE (a local children’s hospice) to
present the charity with a cheque for almost £4,000!
The money was raised by staff through various
fundraising events throughout the year including themed hamper
raffles, quiz evenings, a Dutch auction at the Staff Xmas lunches
and a game of Rounders last summer!
Cathy Davies (a Theatre Administrator at
Ashtead Hospital) was one of the staff that visited Shootingstar
CHASE as she put forward CHASE as the hospitals' 2011 nominated
charity. She said ‘I nominated the charity when I became
aware of the wonderful work they do for children with limited life
expectancy. A friend of mine has a sister who has been helped
by the work at the charity and I have been involved in the past to
raise money for them to carry on their work and to help many other
families. I was so pleased and proud to have been part of raising
such a large amount of money for CHASE and I know that it will be
put to wonderful use.’
