Academic background

Mr Stephen Hewitt is a Consultant Podiatric Surgeon who has held a substantive post for some time, having gained his fellowship of the Faculty of Podiatric (foot and ankle) Surgeons by completing his CCST (Certificate of Completion of Surgical Training) at the West Middlesex University Hospital London. Throughout his training he attended several excellent surgical centres within the UK, which culminated in being awarded the Osteotec scholarship extending his scope of surgical practice with American surgeons at the Kaiser Permanente hospital in San Francisco and orthopaedic colleagues in Lübeck Germany.

Mr Hewitt has also worked at the Al Hada military hospital in Saudi Arabia and Nij Smelleghe Zickenhuis Holland. Recently he has gained affiliate membership of the American College of Foot and Ankle surgeons, providing greater exposure to a wide range of surgical techniques which has allowed him to develop extensive and excellent reflective surgical practice of the foot and ankle, including  Hallux valgus, Rigidus, Neuroma, flat foot and Charcot foot reconstruction and lower limb sports injuries.

He originally gained his Bachelor of Science degree in Podiatric Medicine at the University of Westminster where he was taught the Bio-engineering and mechanical principles of injury and their treatment. This was an invaluable period gaining significant exposure and experience in sports injury diagnosis and treatment using both conservative and invasive techniques, which underpins his practice today.

Mr Hewitt extended his post graduate education by attending Staffordshire University studying Clinical  Podiatric Biomechanics and Huddersfield University studying theory of Podiatric Surgery, gaining his Master of Science degree.
