The range of breast surgeries we offer
Breast augmentation or enlargement is the number one sought after cosmetic surgery procedure by women in the UK. Women often request this surgery after childbirth and breastfeeding or losing weight as their breasts may have changed size and shape. Some women have naturally small breasts and have always desired larger breasts and decide to take the plunge. Other ladies may have asymmetrical breasts.
Breast enlargement is achieved using breast implants or by fat transfer. We will help you choose a high quality implant to achieve the breast size and volume you want. We will discuss the breast size that may suit your height, body shape and existing breast tissue. Sometimes a breast augmentation is combined with a breast uplift to also offer you the lift you require at the same time.
A breast augmentation is carried out under general anaesthetic and typically takes one to two hours. During this time your cosmetic surgeon will make discrete incisions in your skin around your breasts and insert your implants either over or under your chest muscle.
A breast uplift or mastopexy is a surgical procedure to correct your breast and nipple positioning and make your breasts firmer, shapelier and younger looking.
Breasts can begin to lose volume and tone and, sag for many reasons including: ageing, gravity, weight loss and pregnancy and breastfeeding. Droopy breasts can leave you feeling conscious of your body.
During a breast uplift your cosmetic surgeon will lift your breasts tissue, reduce any excess skin and reposition your nipple so that it’s in line with the midline of your upper arm. The procedure is performed under general anaesthetic and usually takes between one and two hours.
A breast uplift may be performed in conjunction with a breast enlargement for a fuller, lifted breast or with a breast reduction to achieve a smaller, correctly positioned breast.
A breast reduction, also called a mammoplasty reduction, is performed to remove unwanted breast tissue with the aim of creating smaller, lighter and better proportioned breasts.
Women with significantly larger breasts than average can get unwanted attention of their breasts that can cause embarrassment and self-consciousness. They may also suffer from physical problems and limitations including: pain in their shoulder, back and neck, bra strap grooves, poor posture, skin problems and rashes underneath the breasts and restricted ability to participate in sporting activities.
Breast reduction is performed under general anaesthetic and normally takes around one to two hours. Your cosmetic surgeon will remove skin, fat and glandular tissue from your breasts as well as repositioning your nipples.
Men can also have a breast reduction, known as gynaecomastia, if they have breast tissue that is enlarged.
